When does Apex Legends Season 1 begin? Battle Pass release date, new characters and weapons
Apex Legends fans are eagerly awaiting the start of Season 1 and the battle pass, which will bring new Legends, weapons and loot to PC, PS4 and Xbox One players.
Apex Legends has already passed the 50 million players mark, quickly asserting itself as one of the most popular games in the world.
Now, fans of the game are excited to jump into the game’s first official season, with many expecting the announcement of Apex Legends Season 1 to drop in the near future.

When will Apex Legends Season 1 release?
While Respawn Entertainment have yet to announce an official launch date for the first season of Apex Legends, the roadmap released by the developers to highlight what’s coming in 2019 did show that Season 1 will kick off in March. The official date remains unknown, although a report from DailyEsports claimed that the season will start on Tuesday, March 12.
However, on March 6, Respawn asked fans for patience:
We still have work to do to get everything ready for prime time and won’t be talking about it yet. There are a lot of moving parts and coordination that go into big announcements and launches like this so please be patient. I know the wait sucks but it’s coming and ask that you all please be patient with us.
A look at the 2019 roadmap for Apex Legends.
Fans remain excited at the prospect of Season 1 and the Battle Pass that will release alongside it, however Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella has moved to quell the expectations that the start of the first season is imminent.
Responding to a fan asking about the Battle Pass, Zampella said: “It hasn’t even been four weeks since we launched! The team is working hard, I promise!”

Will we get new Legends in Season 1?
In a recent update from Respawn Entertainment, the developers confirmed that new Legends would be making their way to Apex Legends during Season 1. One of those Legends has already been leaked, with information regarding a new character named Octane made available, including his abilities and a description of the character, which labels him as an “adrenaline junkie.”
Other new characters have also been found, but less is known about them. It’s likely that we will have to wait for the official launch of Season 1 to learn more.
Will current Legends be updated for Season 1?
While excitement surrounds the new Legends, current Legends are also set to receive changes with the start of Season 1.
In the March 6 patch notes, Respawn confirmed that if problems persist with characters then they will consider additional adjustments during Season 1.
They also noted that significant updates to hitboxes will be made – specifically to Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar – as Season 1 releases, to ensure that there are no major bugs with the changes.
Will Apex Legends have a Battle Pass for Season 1?
Much like Fortnite, the introduction of the first season of Apex Legends brings with it a Battle Pass. Players will be able to purchase the pass, and then rank up through the tiers to unlock seasonal cosmetic items that can be used on your characters, along with Apex Packs.
There is no official price for the Apex Legends Battle Pass, but it is expected to be released alongside the first season.

Will there be new weapons or loot in Apex Legends Season 1?
Yes, players will be able to get their hands on brand new weapons when Season 1 kicks off. Two weapons have previously been leaked, the Havoc rifle and the L-STAR LMG.
Players have already gotten their hands on the Havoc, which released back on February 20, but the L-STAR has still to make an appearance in the game. It’s likely that it will be included in the Season 1 update for the game.
There will also be new loot for players to pick up and find, though there is currently no information available about what we may see.
The L-STAR will be released in Season 1.
How long will Season 1 last?
As the official announcement for Season 1 had yet to be made yet, there are very few confirmed details regarding the season.
Thanks to the Apex Legends 2019 roadmap though, we know that Season 2 is set to kick off in June, so it seems that the Season will last for around 3 months, ending around the end of May or Start of June.
